The Vaad Otzar (“we”, “us”) operates thevaadotzar.com and its mobile applications — a free Torah audio library. We collect the minimum information needed to run the service, and we never sell your data.
Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. If you register with an email and password, we store your name, email, and a securely hashed password. Creating an account is optional — the entire library can be browsed and played without one.
Email subscriptions. If you subscribe to the daily shiur email (or are auto-subscribed on Google sign-in), we store your email address to deliver those emails. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Listening data on your device. Playback history, resume positions, favorites, and settings are stored locally on your device (browser localStorage). They are not uploaded to our servers unless you sign in and use synced features.
Payments and orders. Donations and canvas print purchases are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. For physical orders (canvas prints and merchandise), your name and shipping address are shared with our print partner, Printify, solely to produce and ship your order.
Cookies. We use essential cookies only — to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
To provide the library, deliver shiurim by email at your request, fulfil canvas/merchandise orders, process donations, and respond to support requests. Nothing else.
We share data only with the service providers required to operate the app: Stripe (payments), Printify (order fulfilment), Resend (email delivery), Google (sign-in), and our hosting and storage providers. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
You may access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can permanently delete your account and all associated personal data yourself from Settings → Delete my account. For any other request, email us and we will respond within 30 days.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The content is Torah audio suitable for all ages.
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Email subscription records are removed when you unsubscribe or delete your account. Order records are retained as required for accounting.
The Vaad Otzar is operated by a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Questions or data requests: Akivaparis@gmail.com · 305-497-0507.
